i’d put a picture of the pirates, but pittsburgh only supports its teams when they’re doing something good. they know nothing about loyalty and standing by their teams through thick and thin.

i think that the pittsburgh fan base is a full of morons who for the most part aren’t even from the pittsburgh area, a lot of them (at least where football is concerned) don’t even know that much about the sport other than *omg big ben is like the best quarterback ever!!!* and *crosby is such a babe!!!!* now i know there are exceptions. and i am friends with one steelers/pens fan who can talk me under the table when it comes to hockey. but every other person i’ve come in contact with (i live in baltimore, i’ve met a lot) has done nothing more than brag about the number of rings they have or how they won the superbowl and the cup in the same year. they don’t speak about stats for shit, nor do they ever mention any sort of knowledge on team history pre-2006…and obviously the steelers fans have NOTHING to say about this season having fallen two three of the worst teams in the nfl. i feel the need to constantly reiterate the fact that i’m not speaking of ALL pittsburgh fans, just most of the ones i have talked to.

and like i said originally, supporting two of their teams with such enthusiasm and then disregarding the third just because they don’t have a winning record is just ridiculous.

Boston sports in the last 10 years with the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics all taking championships and the Bruins starting to fight their way into the playoffs the last few years has turned Boston and New England into the biggest bandwagon I have ever seen on earth.  I don’t really follow any of our teams so I dont pretend to be balls out about it but its disgusting how people rally around a team they didnt support when they were in a rut.  Especially the Bruins as of late..every 17-26 year old girl is a a Bruins fan now…fuck that

I live in philly. See any people at sixers games? no. See people at phillies games? yes, because they won last year.

In highschool we used to buy 10 dollar tickets to the Celtics and sit courtside because no one was there or gave a shit.  Balcony seats go for hundreds now.  Ridiculous

to the dude before you:  i lived in philly for a year during college, and that’s when i became interested in the eagles and the phillies…i dated a guy from allentown when i was 18 and he used to make me watch flyers games and that’s how i got into hockey. i don’t like the nba because it’s full of money hungry morons, but if i did pick a team, it’d be the sixers just because of philly.

i’m a baltimore girl, born and raised. we only have baseball and football, so those are what i love the most. the ravens are consistently “good” and the orioles have been terrible since before i was born. i go to probably 15/20 orioles games a year, and i’d go to more if more people were interested in going with me. if we had a hockey or basketball team, i’d support them because they are my teams. i only have one hometown, and i’m going to support everything it gives me, good and bad.

MARRY ME. i can’t speak for their football team because frankly i don’t know shit but their hockey fans have the fucking hockeyIQ of a 3rd grader…it goes no deeper than the mighty ducks trilogy…please understand your fans were non-existent until you got Cindy CINDY CINDY Crosby….oh and lets not count the mulitple bullshit calls you got in the finals…scoring with too many men on the ice and NOT getting a penalty..c’mon! the only reason it was competitive is because gary bettman want’s to fuck Cindy

love that i texted you about this, but you beat me to it by responding already.

the steelers love to talk about how they swept us last season…well, the first game we played against them, i forget who it was, but one of their guys had their feet in the endzone…but the ball never crossed the threshold…therefore…NO TD. but of course they got it. went on to win the game.  the second game was pretty much our fault for losing. and the playoff game was the typical story of the baltimore ravens, a bunch of bs calls on us and not on anyone else (case in point: us vs. green bay MNF)

my favorite moment of that playoff game was being at my buddys house, when the ravens scored first, we googled “sports bar pittsburgh” and called a bunch of sports bars like “uh hi do you guys have the game on?” they’d be like “um, yeah…” and we’d be like “DID YOU JUST FUCKING SEE THAT?! FUCK YOU PITTSBURGH!!”
